PixPurge vs PicWish

A text-first browser tool against a multi-platform editing suite. Checked against PicWish's own pricing and feature pages in November 2026.

Quick verdict

PicWish is a suite: background removal, object removal, photo enhancement, an AI designer, desktop and mobile apps, and bulk processing once you pay. Watermark removal is one feature among a dozen, and that is the right shape for a shop reworking a catalogue.

PixPurge does one job. Upload a photo, press one button, every word and badge it can see comes off, the background behind them is rebuilt. No app, no suite, no batch queue — one image at a time, in a browser, on any device.

The honest split: if the work is volume across several devices, PicWish is built for it and we are not. If the work is one photo with an annoying caption, watermark or date stamp, PixPurge gets there in three steps without installing anything.

What matters PixPurge PicWish
How the mark is selected The model finds text and badges by itself and clears them in one pass. Brush and box tools are there when only one mark should go. Watermark removal runs under their "Auto Removal" feature, which detects the mark for you; object removal uses a manual brush for anything that is not a watermark.
Account needed Yes — a free account holds your credits and your results. Yes for HD downloads and anything beyond the free trial; the free plan is capped at limited trials and no batch.
Free tier 10 credits at sign-up. A 720p removal costs 3, so about three images. A free plan with limited core-feature downloads and no credits included; HD downloads and bulk processing sit behind Pro or Max.
Batch work One image at a time. No batch queue yet — twenty photos means twenty uploads. Bulk processing is part of the paid plans; their free tier does not support it.
API None. There is no public API and we do not advertise one. Yes — PicWish sells image-editing API access with its own pricing page.
Where it runs Any browser, desktop or phone. Nothing to install. Web, Windows and Mac apps, plus iOS and Android apps — the widest platform spread of the tools on this page.
Watermark on results None. The cleaned image downloads as-is. No badge is added; the free plan limits downloads rather than stamping the output. We have not verified every free-path export ourselves.
Output resolution 720p on free credits, 1K and 2K on the paid plans. HD downloads come with the subscription; the exact pixel ceilings differ per feature and are not published as a single number.
Licence to remove the mark Only your own images, your own products, or supplier photos you are licensed to edit. The same rule applies to any of these tools: removing someone else's mark to reuse their image is infringement, whichever button you press.

How to try PixPurge on your own image

Three steps, about a minute. No card, no download, nothing to install.

1

Open the tool and sign in

No install, no desktop app — the browser tool is the whole product. Ten credits land in a new account.

2

Drop the photo in

One photo per run: JPG, PNG, WebP or HEIC, 10MB ceiling. This is the part PicWish does with a queue and we do one at a time.

3

Download the clean version

Download it at 720p on free credits, 1K or 2K on a paid plan. Nothing is stamped on the result.

FAQ

FAQ: PixPurge vs PicWish

For volume, usually yes: PicWish has bulk processing on paid plans, desktop and mobile apps, and an API — none of which PixPurge offers. For taking text off one photo in a browser without installing anything, PixPurge is the shorter route and it is honest about being one image at a time.
No, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. One image per run, no public API. If a catalogue of 500 photos is the job, a tool with bulk processing is the right instrument.
Both want one. PixPurge needs an account because credits and results live there; PicWish needs one for HD downloads and paid features. Neither is a no-signup tool, so the comparison is about what you get after signing in, not whether you sign in.
Both can. PicWish treats watermark removal as its own auto feature; PixPurge treats a watermark as text or a badge and clears it in the same pass, with a dedicated watermark remover page for stock marks and tiled overlays.
No. Removing a photographer's or a stock library's mark to reuse the image is copyright infringement in most countries, and it is against our terms. The intended use is your own images or ones you are licensed to edit — that applies to PicWish as much as to us.
